Euro 2008 round three, the end of the group stage, Who’s HOT and who’s NOT, volume 3!

Day twelve of the Euro 2008 tournament saw the already group winners Spain beat the already eliminated Greece 2-1. Sweden and Russia battled it out for the other quarter-final place with Sweden only needing a draw. They never looked like getting the point they needed and a good Russian side won 2-0.

Russia started well and they created an excellent team goal for Pavluchenko in the twenty-third minute to go deservedly 1-0 up.

Sweden gradually got back into the game but Russia held on until half-time. Less than five minutes into the second half Russia ripped Sweden apart again and Arshavin doubled their lead.

I m not entirely sure whether Russia were really good or Sweden were really bad, but Russia certainly were impressive. They could easily have won by five go…

Euro 2024 final proves a game too far for England as familiar failing costs Southgate

For all the talk of an England victory being written in the stars at Euro 2024, the Three Lions oldest failing returned to haunt them in Sunday s final.

If you cannot control matches at the elite level, you lose control of your destiny.

That was exactly what happened at the Olympiastadion as Spain – the tournament s outstanding side – won a record-breaking fourth European crown, and deservedly so.

It briefly looked like England might cap the most remarkable of knockout runs with another rescue act when Cole Palmer came off the bench to cancel out Nico Williams opener.

But at 1-1, England ceded control and territory, and as was the case against Croatia at the 2018 World Cup and Italy in the Euro 2020 final, it cost them.

Rashford eager for Euro 2016 redemption in Russia

Marcus Rashford says the misery of England s early exit from Euro 2016 is serving as motivation to avoid a similar fate at the World Cup.

Roy Hodgson s England were surprisingly bundled out by an unfancied Iceland in the first knockout stage of their last major tournament.

Rashford came off the bench in that match as he did in the 2-1 friendly win over Nigeria on Saturday that extended the Three Lions  unbeaten run to nine matches.

The 20-year-old Manchester United forward is hopeful of maintaining that form to steer clear of another deflating defeat on the big stage.

The feeling of losing is a nasty feeling. When you speak about [it], people don t understand, Rashford told reporters.

So definitely we ll take all the things that happened at th…

On this day in 2010: Fulham beaten by Atletico Madrid in Europa League final

Fulham were beaten 2-1 by Atletico Madrid in the Europa League final on this day in 2010.

Diego Forlan’s winner late in extra-time brought the London club’s Europa League adventure to a heartbreaking end.

Roy Hodgson’s side provided shocks in the competition to reach the final – beating Juventus and Shakhtar Donetsk along the way – but were denied a first European trophy by an Atletico side which contained the likes of Sergio Aguero, Jose Antonio Reyes and David De Gea.

Atletico hit the front in the 32nd minute when Forlan pounced on a mishit shot from Aguero to beat Mark Schwarzer from close range but Fulham were quick to level as Simon Davies smashed home Zoltan Gera’s cross five minutes later.

Both sides failed to make an impression or crea…

Week 11 NFL Parlay Picks: Buffalo Bucks and Browns Bounce Back

We’re more than halfway through the 17-game season, and at this point, wins and seeding become even more pivotal. Looking at Week 11 as a whole, there are a lot of evenly-matched contests – seven games have spreads of less than a field goal, which could really set apart the “good” teams from the “great.”

Here’s a look at my favorite spreads and total bets I’ll be targeting for Week 11’s NFL parlay picks.

NFL Power Rankings: Eagles Putting a Hurt(s) on the Competition

After two weeks of results, it’s a real crap shoot outside of the Top 10 of the NFL power rankings, with some teams forgetting to get off the bus in Week 2 or just failing to protect multi-score leads. Quarterback issues are shaking up the standings while the Colts and Broncos continue to frustrate bettors. It would also be great if someone could protect Joe Burrow, starting in Week 3.

In games on a neutral field, every higher-ranked team would be favored or, at least, a pick ’em on the in this format. For two teams ranked closely together, the difference in the spread would be a home-field advantage (if any), which varies slightly from team to team.

Raiders vs Bills Odds, Picks, and Predictions Week 2: Let James Cook

It’s a short week for the Buffalo Bills but the NFL odds have tabbed them as -9.5 point home favorite vs. a cross-country traveling team in the Las Vegas Raiders. Are these Do these Week 2 NFL odds mean a victory is more than guaranteed at Highmark Stadium, especially with some injury concerns on the Las Vegas offense?

With the game script in his favor and Josh Allen coming off a poor decision-making game vs. the Jets, James Cook could be leaned on heavily between the 20s and bettors are starting to pile on his rushing total, but has the number passed the buy point?

Here are my free NFL Week 2 picks for Raiders vs. Bills.

49ers vs Seahawks TNF Prop Bets: Charbonnet Has Arrived

The San Francisco 49ers have bounced back after a tumultuous three-game losing streak, having strung together two impressive wins on the back of MVP-like performances from QB Brock Purdy, boosting their TNF odds.

Tonight in Week 12 odds, they will head to the Emerald City to face the Seattle Seahawks in a Thanksgiving affair. The Seahawks have lost two of their last three and are in need of a win to keep the division race competitive down the final stretch of the season.

Is Purdy and Mike Shanahan’s offense ready to put together another offensive masterclass or will Geno Smith and the Seahawks have tricks up their sleeves to keep this game competitive as seven-point underdogs? NFL props might hold the answers we’re seeking.
