Mikel Arteta believes Arsenal are gaining momentum in the title race after they roared to a 6-0 win at West Ham.
The Gunners backed up last week’s big triumph over Liverpool with another statement victory, their biggest away win in the Premier League.
Their title bid hit the buffers in this fixture last season when they blew a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 but there was no chance of a repeat after William Saliba headed them in front and West Ham promptly collapsed.
Declan Rice grabbed a pair of assists against his former club while Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Magalhaes and Leandro Trossard were also on target, all before half-time.
Saka scored his second midway through the second half and Rice rubbed salt in the wounds with a long-range sixth.

Diogo Dalot believes super sub Scott McTominay’s never-say-die approach is the kind of mentality Manchester United need if they are to qualify for the Champions League.
A bumpy, injury-hit start to the season saw pressure mount on manager Erik ten Hag as his side were eliminated from Europe and stumbled on the domestic front.
But there have been signs of improvement since the turn of the year, with United’s unbeaten start to 2024 continuing with a late, hard-fought Premier League win at Villa.

Mauricio Soria said Bolivia s Copa America quarter-final against Peru will be the most important in his career.
Bolivia are through to the knockout stages at the continental tournament for the first time since their run to the final in 1997 while Peru have reached the quarters for a seventh straight time.
Soria said the opportunity for Bolivia who sit 89th in FIFA s rankings was not lost on him ahead of their knockout tie in Temuco on Thursday.
The next game is always the most important for those involved in football, we need to win the next game and then try to conquer the next one but it will be difficult if we don t achieve success in the next one, Soria told a news conference.

Phil Foden s lack of game time at Manchester City will not dissuade youngsters from joining the Premier League champions, according to Pep Guardiola.
Former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss Guardiola has frequently spoken of his admiration for Foden, calling him the most talented player he has coached, but the teenager has still managed just 10 minutes as a substitute in the Premier League this season.
The 19-year-old is considered the finest player to have emerged from City s academy in recent years but, despite significant investment in their youth teams, graduates at the club have struggled for playing time due to the raft of established senior stars blocking their path.
Yet Guardiola is not worried about youngsters snubbing City for other opportunities.

In a real battle between two sides enduring a sluggish end to the 2019/2020 campaign, Verona will welcome an already relegated SPAL to an empty Stadio Marc Antonio Bentegodi on Wednesday evening.
Starting with the hosts, suffering a dramatic collapse on home soil last weekend, it has been a torrid end to the year for Verona. While they may have marked their return from the enforced break still dreaming of mounting a stunning European charge, Ivan Jurić s men should still be reeling from their 5-1 drumming against Lazio on Saturday. Failing to build off of their dramatic 3-2 victory against Parma when marking their return from the interruption, I Gialloblu have failed to win any of their last seven Serie A contests on the bou…
Sir Jim Ratcliffe admits Dan Ashworth would make a “very good addition” to Manchester United as sporting director and says it would be “absurd” if he was forced to serve an extended period of garden leave.
Ashworth has been placed on leave by Newcastle after informing the club that he had chosen to leave his role as their sporting director.
